Istanbul - Luxor After ticket, baggage, and boarding procedures at Pegasus Airlines counter in the International Departures Terminal of Sabiha Gökçen Airport, we depart for Luxor on a scheduled Pegasus Airlines flight. We will enter the next day on the plane. Luxor - Valley of the Kings - Hatshepsut Temple - Luxor Upon our early-night arrival at Luxor Airport, we transfer to our hotel by private vehicle waiting for us, check in early, and have free time to rest, followed by breakfast. We begin our tour by exploring the Valley of the Kings, where the tombs built for pharaohs and powerful nobles are located. The kings had their tombs built in this mysterious valley so that their valuable belongings would not be stolen and their immortality would continue in peace. After visiting the Valley of the Kings, we continue to the Hatshepsut Temple, built in memory of Hatshepsut, the first and only female pharaoh of Ancient Egypt. After touring this monumental structure, one of the most important mortuary temples of Hatshepsut, who dressed like a king and wore a false beard after becoming queen, we will have our meal at a local restaurant. Then we transfer to our hotel and have free time. Overnight at our hotel. Luxor - Karnak Temple - Luxor Temple - Aswan After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for the Karnak & Luxor Temple Tour. Our first stop on the tour will be Karnak Temple, the largest temple complex in Egypt and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Surrounded by 20-meter-high mudbrick-covered walls and containing many temples inside, this magnificent structure offers important insights into Egypt’s history and mythology. We will visit this impressive site, whose construction took more than 2000 years and where we can see the additions each pharaoh made to the tomb of the previous one. Our second stop will be Luxor Temple, rising in all its splendor on the banks of the Nile and one of the best-preserved structures of the ancient world. Built around 1400 BC and welcoming visitors with giant statues of Ramses II, this temple was a sacred center that hosted the coronation ceremonies of kings. At the entrance of the temple, you can see the obelisk whose twin was sent to Concorde Square in Paris, as well as the beginning of the 3-kilometer-long Avenue of Sphinxes that extends to Karnak. Abu Simbel Temple is a massive structure located on the west bank of the Nile, near the Sudanese border. It was carved directly into the rock mass by Pharaoh Ramses II. Symbolizing the pharaoh’s power and devotion to the gods, the temple offers one of the most impressive views of the ancient world with its four giant Ramses statues, each 20 meters high, at the entrance. The temple also includes an astronomical marvel known as the “Sun Miracle,” which allows sunlight to illuminate the innermost sacred chamber every year on the pharaoh’s birthday and coronation day. After our visit to Abu Simbel, we return to Aswan and have lunch at a local restaurant. Then we enjoy our traditional Felucca Boat Tour on the Nile River. At the end of the tour, transfer to the hotel and free time. Aswan - Cairo After breakfast at the hotel, we transfer to Aswan Airport for our scheduled domestic flight to Cairo. Upon arrival in Cairo, we begin our Panoramic Cairo City Tour with the private vehicle waiting for us. Among the places we will see are the Old City Center, Muhammad Ali Mosque, Sedat’s Mausoleum, Baron Palace, Tahrir Square, and the city center along the Nile River. Overnight at our hotel. Cairo – Grand Cairo Museum – Pyramids – Sphinx – Cairo – Istanbul After breakfast at our hotel, free time. Guests who wish may join the optional Lunch Included Grand/Great Cairo Museum & Giza Pyramids & Sphinx Tour (135 Euro), organized by our guide. Our first stop is the museum, which covers an area of 500,000 square meters (approximately 70 football fields) and is the world’s largest archaeology museum complex dedicated to a single civilization. Standing out with a magnificent plaster and glass façade, the complex is decorated with triangles of different sizes and colors as a tribute to Ancient Egypt. Then we will visit the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, named after the pharaohs who built them. These three pyramids, built thousands of years ago and still preserving their mystery, were designed in the shape of a Pythagorean triangle. Built years before Pythagoras, these pyramids show that the Egyptians had highly advanced knowledge of mathematics and geometry. After visiting the mysterious pyramids, we will see the Sphinx, with the head of a pharaoh and the body of a lion, symbolizing the rising sun and rebirth for the pharaoh. We will have lunch at a local restaurant during the tour. Finally, after visiting the Sphinx, the “Living Statue” with a temple between its paws, free time will be given. Then we transfer to our hotel for rest. Late at night, around 03:00 the following evening, we transfer to Cairo Airport for our return flight.
